About

The Breezers Ball

The Breezers Ball was conceived in 2012 as a community event that celebrates all that is good about Waltham, and as an antidote for winter!

When we started the Ball, we thought March would be the time to hold it because by then we’re all eager to shake off cabin fever and go out to a party and dance! For many Walthamites, the Breezers Ball has become the first night of spring!

‘Breezer’ is a unique Waltham term for people who’ve moved here from elsewhere. But of course, many of us who breezed in have put down roots, raised kids, and run businesses here.

And we Breezers want to thank Waltham, especially its lifelong residents, for welcoming us and for making Waltham such a great place to live and work.

We seek to contribute to the community in the same way lifelong residents have—one small way is to give the net proceeds from the ball to fund two scholarships for Waltham High grads going to college.

It’s the old and the new working together that is the strength of Waltham. And all of us appreciating each other and celebrating together: that is the Breezers Ball!
